Vertigo (pure class in every way)

On The Waterfront (a great story and Brando is superb - check that Taxi cab scene - I coulda been a contender - BRILLIANT!)

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly (I love the relationshipo between the characters)

Double Indemnity (filmaking at it's best)

2001: A Space Odyssey (pure cinema, art)

It's A Wonderful Life (sounds obvious but it's so life affirming)

Star Wars (EP. IV of course)

Lord of the RIngs will be probably be up there after ROTK comes out (the books are masterpieces and the films are very faithful)

It has to be apocalypse now! Or the good the bad and the ugly or once upon a time in the west! i cant decide which but these are my faves.

In no particular order: Fargo, The Man Who Wasn't There, Star Wars and Ghost World. Out of them, I probably like Star Wars best (life just wouldn't be the same without it).

Admittedly not in the same league, I watched The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn recently (the old version) and that has to go somewhere on my list.

Seven Samurai and Saving Private Ryan, those are probably my favourites.

And, as I was watching the Gremlings a few days ago on the telly, it reminded me of 'seemingly simple' movies you really really enjoy as a kid, but forget when you get older - but the greatness of those movies doesn't go away. So how come you forget them? If you asked me my favourite movie a few years ago, I would've said Jurassic Park. And it's still great. But how come its not in me list anymo? How come? Oh the agonizing pain of growing up!
